Just the Facts

Education

Throughout my career, from the classroom to the field, and serving two school districts as superintendent, I’ve been dedicated to one mission: providing Kansas students with the best education possible. As your candidate for the Senate, I am committed to fully funding our public schools, ensuring robust support for special education, and empowering our teachers.

Public education has been my life’s work, and I’m ready to bring that dedication to the Kansas Senate. Together, we can give every student the tools to succeed and build a brighter future for our state.

Abortion

If elected, my mission will be to defend a position on abortion that is supported by a vast majority of Kansans, including opposing taxpayer-funded abortion and preserving limits on late-term abortion. I also support efforts to help women with unexpected pregnancies by increasing tax credits to make adoption more affordable. It’s important we ensure women always receive emergency care for situations such as ectopic pregnancies, miscarriages, and other complications.

Personally, I believe in the sanctity of life because my faith tells me that every life is a gift from God. My wife and I lost a son to suicide 21 years ago, and we know firsthand the value of that life. This value extends to include the lives of veterans, the disabled, those who are developmentally challenged, the elderly, children, and the most vulnerable. Kansas law clearly states: “It is the state’s responsibility to take care of the most vulnerable.”
